Joe Mangrum

The first time I saw Joe Mangrum’s artwork the first question that came to my mind was: Do you like art created in a trance-like state? His sand artwork is filled with layers, waves and geometric lines.

Joe Mangrum had a relationship with Taiwan. His wife was studied in Taiwan. He had an art show in Beijing’s Sunshine museum in 2008.

His sand artwork was done with his hands. He meditated while he stood on the side. He used his hand to grab the sand and let the sand leak on the floor. He drew a flower lines and reached out and spread it out the floor. It took him at least seven to ten hours to finish the sand artwork. It was the greatest piece of sand artwork that I ever seen.

Joe Mangrum
